Enjoying the leaves

...and we had plenty of them!

Clearing the snow

Jonathan shoveled a path for Grandpa for when he came to pick him up. Only the path curved to the left, through the ditch then out to the road!

My Cousin Tanya

Tanya Stevens Naples

Your smile and happiness brought joy to those around you.

May the joy live on through your beautiful children.

You will be greatly missed.

My grandfather was able to visit last month. Although it was for the death of my beautiful cousin, Tanya, we were still glad to see him. He has been in Florida this summer getting treatments for lung cancer. The doctors believe they got it all so hopefully, he will be able to come home next spring. We certainly miss him.

Christmas with Sami

Samantha loves getting the decorations out. She gets so excited. Her favorite Christmas song is Santa Clause is coming to town. Although, she likes all the songs. Sami and Jonathan helped decorate the tree. She wore that dress all day long Sunday. She is going to have breakfast with Santa on Sunday and said she was going to wear that dress because she needed to ask Santa something. Hmmmm.....!

Jason's Hunting Experience

After many years of no success, Jason finally got a deer...not one but two! He went out on a Friday, the last day of bow and got a buck. The next day, the first day of gun, he went out again and shot a doe. Venison anyone?!

Happy Birthday!!

Happy 3rd Birthday,
Nicholas!
You are a most precious gift.
I thank God everyday for you.
And
Happy Birthday,
Uncle Jim!
We missed your summer visit.

An Afternoon With Dad

It has been really crazy around here the last few weeks with kids sick, school, doctors visits, school events, etc. But Jason went to work early, really early, then came home to have some family time. We ended up taking the kids to the mall to run around. They rode a ride, played some games and picked prizes and had a pretzel. Afterward we went home for a short rest then hopped back in the car to church. The Olympian group, which Jonathan attends, was having a Fall Festival. They had a regular club meeting then went bobbing for apples (neither Jon nor Sami participated), ate donuts off strings and colored pumpkins. Nicky and Steven stayed with Grandpa and Grandma. Too bad we didn't get too sleep in the next day!

Childbirth story

I received this in an email and just had to share with everyone. It was so funny!

Childbirth at 65

With all the new technology regarding fertility recently, a 65-year-oldf riend of mine was able to give birth.

When she was discharged from thehospital and went home, I went to visit.

'May I see the new baby?' I asked

'Not yet,' She said 'I'll make coffee and we can visit for a while first.'

Thirty minutes had passed, and I asked, 'May I see the new baby now?''

No, not yet,' She said.

After another few minutes had elapsed,I asked again, 'May I see the baby now?''

No, not yet,' replied my friend.

Growing very impatient, I asked, 'Well, when can I see the baby?'

WHEN HE CRIES!' she told me.'

WHEN HE CRIES?' I demanded. 'Why do I have to wait until he CRIES?''

BECAUSE I FORGOT WHERE I PUT HIM, O.K.?!!'

School Days

Nicky waiting for his bus
Hard to believe that we have made it through a month of school already. Time flies...really! We start school at 8am. Early for us, but I want to get most everything in before Nick comes home from school. Then we eat lunch, take Sami to school, come home and put Nick down for his nap, finish school, pick Sami up from school, come home, play around a bit then start dinner, get baths etc. Then it's reading and off to bed. Phew!!! At times it is crazy, I wouldn't ask for it any other way. It is such a joy to teach Jon and Sami. I miss Nick and seeing his progress, but I know it is for the best. And sometimes it is frustrating because I can't sit in on his speech sessions anymore. He signs and says stuff that I have no clue about. At least his teacher writes home about what he did that day. I know that he is enjoying himself. He really likes his bus. Nick won't eat breakfast because he would rather go out and wait for the bus! Go figure! If we could only stop and enjoy the little things in life!

Spending time with Grandpa and Grandma

A few days ago, we decided to go the park after picking up Sami from school. Instead, we ended up at my parents house roasting marshmallows and having smores. What fun! On our way there we stopped to see a dying snake in the road. No, I didn't fun over it! I think the motorcycle in front of me ran over it's head. I didn't see any other damage. It was a pretty big snake. And yes, we stop for dead, and live, animals often. Coyotes, turtles, porcupines...snakes! For some reason Jonathan and Samantha like it.

I don't know what kind of snake this is...it was big!

Jon in his policeman uniform. He has real handcuffs, a night stick, badge and a sheriffs bag!

New posts

I have added quite a few posts in one day so be sure to check out some of the older posts in case you missed some. Enjoy!!

On the first day of school....

I cried! I sent my Nicholas on the school bus. He was upset also. It was too much to see his crying face and yells of "Mama!" I broke down in tears myself and had to just walk away. But there is so much to do in school that the time flies and he is home safely home again.

Waiting for the bus....
Taking Nicky to the bus...

The 3 Muskateers

"All for one, and one for all!"

This time Nick got in on the action...how cute!

A place of serenity

This is my legacy...at least I like to think that!...the cottage or camp or Papa's beach. I love this old house. I love the memories I have from time spent there with family and friends. I am happy to share my love of this place with my children. I am happy to see they love to go there also.

Jason and Jon sitting on the new dock.
Nicholas being brave and venturing in the water. He ended up falling face first and now has an enflamed ear. Well, we tried to keep the water out of his ears!
Sami pulling Nick around. It was a gorgeous day last Sunday and the kids spent a couple hours playing in the water.

Down by the campfire

One day, Jason made small fire and helped the kids roast marshmallows. Fun! Sami is wearing some clothes that some one gave her. It really wasn't that cold out...yet!

Another tooth....gone!

Jonathan had the pleasure of having a tooth pulled last month. Supposedly, this will make room for his other teeth. He must have inherited my jaw...I had many teeth pulled! Still am! He did a good job and they cleaned the tooth all up, put it in a little container and told him to put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy. He did...for 3 days! That tooth fairy! Well, she finally remembered and he got a whole dollar! Which he promptly put in his piggy bank to save for later.

Archery Practice

The kids have taken an interest in shooting a bow, thanks to Jason. They love to be outside when he is shooting. They will place an apple on the target and guess how many arrows it will take to hit it. Loads of fun! And they like to pull the arrows out of the target. Don't know why!

Jonathan will get all dressed up and pretend he is Robin Hood! Sami is Maid Marian, Jason is Friar Tuc.....

Trying to get a picture!

I was trying to get a picture of Sami, with Steven and Nick...

Someone was always moving!

They grow up so fast!

Nicholas has grown enough that he can walk up and down the stairs by himself. Quite the independent little man!

The Great NYS Fair

Sea Lion show...aren't they cute!

Thomas & Friends
Jason, Steven, Jon and a policeman with the Syracuse Courts
Testing out the policeman's car
colored chickens...blue, purple and pink!
Grandpa and kids...Grandpa works security at the fair...rides around in a golf cart! Got us a good parking spot though!
We had a good time at the fair. Lots to see and do. The kids had fun in the 4H Youth building making crafts. Jonathan even found a "girlfriend"! Only because she did all the work for him on the tissue paper flower! Everyone was certainly tired at the end of the day.
