Happenings

Sorry I have no new picture to post. Actually, I have pictures. It is my computer that does not want to transfer them from the camera. And the disk I have from Wal-mart does not want to work. So I need to get the time to reload the program so you can all see what fun we are having lately.

We have been to the cottage a couple times and it has been beautiful! Although we miss Grandpa being there, we are having fun with cousin Mark from Texas. Or as the kids call him, "Uncle Mark". He has certainly won over Jonathan and Samantha. They want to know where he is and what he is doing every second they are up there. They will miss him when he his gone. I am glad they were able to spend some time with him. I am sure it was enlightening for him also! Mark may not think so, but he is very good with children.

I have been trying to get outside with the kids. We have gone for a walk a couple times, looking for treasures along the way. Jonathan found some good ones...I'm not even sure what they are. I try to get them to go outside while I hang out the clothes. They have been playing in the pool on some hot days. They love the water!

Today was a doctor day. Samantha had something going on on her legs. Thought it was poison ivy, but it turns out that she had a reaction to a bug bite. My children and their skin problems! Nicholas also saw the doctor but for something entirely different. I won't go into detail about that! Let's just say it is another one of the things Downs kids seem to have issues with. If I can give Nicholas six weeks of shots, I can deal with this! We have a wonderful pediatrician who has been preparing me for these types of issues. We must press on!

I have finally managed to order Jonathan's new curriculum for 1st grade. It has already arrived and we have looked through all the books. I am having a hard time keeping them out of the new books. Samantha will also be home schooled this year and she received a wonderful assortment for preschool. She is thrilled and can't wait to start. We are also going to try to get her into a Universal pre K program which is held at a church a mile down the road. She enjoys the socialization much more than Jonathan does. Although we still need to work on the Jekyll and Hyde attitude!

Steven is growing everyday. And starting to lose that beautiful hair...thanks to cradle cap! He has started smiling and cooing. I love it! He receives lots of complements when we are out. People are always stopping and commenting on him. Tonight as I was putting the groceries in the car the couple next to me were gushing over him and the lady was telling me about her niece. She is also 2 months old. Unfortunately, she has huge lump on her head and the doctors think it is a tumor. Once again, I neglected to get their name. I wanted them to know that I would be praying for this little girl and her family. The woman lost her first baby at four months and to have this happen, the mother is beside herself. I don't know if she knows Jesus. I kissed Steven as I put him back in the car seat and praise the Lord for the life he has given me.

Isn't it the truth? Every "problem" my kids have faced, every struggle they deal with that is not "normal", just makes me more and more aware of how thankful I am that I have been blessed with two precious babies...

What did you get for school? I know you used Explode the Codes and curious if you are going with that still. What else? We got our stuff just recently. All I need now is our Bible still looking for a sale somewhere.
