The Kindness of Strangers
A few days ago, Sami and I went down to the ice cream place. While we were waiting for someone to take our order I noticed a penny on the ground. I told Sami to pick it up. The gentleman next to us was watching us and reached in his pocket and took out a dollar bill. He asked Sami if she would trade her penny for a what he had. Of course, she just stands there! The man's granddaughter tells him to just give the dollar to her and he does so. As we stood there talking, I mentioned to Samantha the Jonathan would be jealous because she received some money. He is always trying to find money around the house! The woman asks how old her brother is and I say "which one?!". We continue to talk and the man hands Sami 3 more dollars and tells her there is one for each of her brothers. I don't think I could say thank you enough to the man. And in my shock I negelcted to even get his name. Some day, I hope that we will be able to pass on such kindness to someone else. Just for the heck of it!

That is such a great story! My kids are always looking for change too. They will find a penny and ask "is this enough for swimming lessons?" $45 for swim lessons. Then they graciously put it in the offering plate at Church!
